DIY

This is more of a joint Mark & Charlie thing. We're slowly getting the house altered as required.

It's looking pretty tatty in places which puts me off having people round to visit, and drives Mark potty because every time he starts one job 20 other things surrounding it go wrong. Meaning everything takes 20 times longer.

For example, when he started to take the paper off the wall in the kitchen the plaster started to fall off. This in turn revealed a network of disused pipes that did not actually connect to anything. They had been cut off from what ever they used to supply and plastered over. Winner! And don't even get him started on the wireing....

Kitchen

We started with the kitchen in 2008 and have had to stop because the money ran out. All we're missing is a new fridge-freezer so we're not far off!

Here's a few shots of the bulk of it going in - and yes we were down to bare plaster for a good while there!

(Oh, and the pictures of me hanging wall paper mid contraction? Yeah, they are in there too!)

Nursery

This was our other semi-rushed project.

I got into the nesting thing in my 3rd trimester with Jack and this was the result! I'm actually happy with this room and consider it done! YAY!!

Big Boys Room (link)

Well... this room is well on the way to being finished now!

The second half of the bunkbed has arrived and is up, but the finishing touches like wall stickers are still to go up, and the dresser needs a sand / oil (it's old).

Livingroom (Link)

Another room which is just waiting on the finishing touches!

The new light fitting is to go up, the new clock, and the photo frames. We have them all, they just need putting up!

Yay!

Stairway & Landing (Link)

I wasn't actually thinking about doing this just yet... BUT hubby got restless and BAM! No wallpaper!

But as we have the rolls of backing paper around, and the paste, paint and other such gubbins I guess it does make sense!

Future Projects

Loft. Needs boarding out so we can actually USE it! Has been (at least partly) boarded!! This means that we have been able to put some stuff away and start making room for Squiggle! The crib is now up in our bedroom at least :oD The rest will come later.

Bedroom (ours) it needs a new colour scheme! We have new wardrobe, dresser, bed, bedside tables, linen unit etc.... A lovely new carpet would be nice and some sexy, sultry colours for the walls! (Mark needs some convincing though!)

Bathroom. A working shower would be nice! And a hard floor instead of that nasty, smelly, horrible carpet! Gah! Who thinks it's a good idea to have a carpet in a wet environment? A wet environment where men and small children pee?! Madness.....

We might actually have all this done in time to sell up and move into a bigger place (and start all over again!)
