(DIY) Jack's Big Boy Room

This is going to be a major task! This is how the room looks at the moment (Feb 15th 2010):

The Pre-Clear Out
It's a mess, right? Well all that stuff needs to come out. And be re-homed somewhere.... the big set of drawers is going back, and he's getting a set of bunk beds from my mum's house.

the carpet needs cleaning, as do the curtains. We needs to strip the walls and redecorate (we think there is wood chip under the painted paper which is on the walls. What fun!) and the ceiling too...

We've gone for a blue and cream scheme, with a dark blue up to about 1/3 of the way up the wall, a border (Disney Cars) and a warm creamy colour from there up. We'll probably use the cream for the whole of the window wall.

I've also got some Thomas the Tank Engine removable wall stickers. His two favorite things at the moment at Thomas and Toy Story so these are the themes we're going for. And they are easily changeable as he grows up. He already has a Thomas duvet set and bedside lamp. We'll be getting Toy Story duvet set for him too and (since there is a new Toy Story movie coming out sometime this year) we'll add more Toy Story stuff as it comes on the market.

Jack has already spent a little bit of time in this room over the last few days, just getting used to the space, and he seems to like it so far!

Diary: March 9th 2010
Progress on the Big Boy Room! The walls and ceiling have been striped and new backing paper has been put up. We've both been painting this room, either while Jack's been in bed or we've taken turns at looking after Jack & painting his room! And it's not looking too bad either! There's stll stuff to be done, one wall still needs the ivory paint putting on, the ceiling needs painting, and we have the border to put up. After that there are bits like a new vent cover, lamp shade etc. The bunkbeds are arriving from Nana's (my mum) in a couple of days too.

	The walls are all done! The ceiling is painted! The first half of the bunkbed is in! This room is sort of functional.... just need to rehome the tat now :oD

	Jack's new mattress is here! The new duvet set and fleece blankets are arriving today! Posters have been bought! Lamp shade is in! It's almost DONE!!!
